The Bahamas Insurance Association (BIA) is a trade group representing insurers, agents, brokers and adjusters in the Bahamas. It meets regularly and represents the views of its members to the government and various other bodies.
A full-time coordinator, who reports to an elected executive consisting of a chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary and treasurer, manages day-to-day affairs.
The Association has promulgated a professional code of practice outlining how to conduct insurance business in a fair and ethical manner. All BIA members are expected to adhere to the code, which is published on the association’s web site.
