The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Republic of France have signed an [Agreement](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/international/079312900.pdf) for the Exchange of Information Relating to Tax Matters.

The treaty, the tenth that meets the OECD standard, was executed by means of an Exchange of Letters between the two countries. Minister Eric Woerth of France confirmed the agreement in his response of December 7th, 2009 to a letter submitted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs The Hon. T. Brent Symonette in which he outlined the terms of the agreement.

It remains the stated objective of The Bahamas to secure 12 agreements that meet the OECD standard for transparency and information exchange in tax matters (the “Standard”) before the end of the year.
