The Honourable T. Brent Symonette, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, today on behalf of the Government signed an [Agreement for the Exchange of Information on Tax Matters](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/international/004785800.pdf) with the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Signing on behalf of the Netherlands was J.C. de Jager, State Secretary for Finance.

The Deputy Prime Minister said, *“As The Bahamas and the Kingdom of the Netherlands adjust to the ever-changing global financial and economic landscape, The Bahamas looks forward to cooperation between our two countries in this and other areas.”*

The Bahamas Netherlands TIEA is the eighth Tax Information Exchange Agreement concluded by the Government of The Bahamas; and the fourth with a member of the OECD.

Minister Symonette noted that the conclusion of these and other negotiations for Tax Information Exchange Agreements by The Bahamas affirm the Government’s commitment to implement the accepted international standards for transparency and information exchange in tax matters.
