Franklin Templeton Fiduciary Bank and Trust Ltd., a member of the Franklin Templeton Investments family, officially opened its doors in the Templeton Building at Lyford Cay earlier this month. Licensed under the Banks & Trust Companies Regulation Act, FTFB offers investment management services to high net worth individuals and families, banking services and family resource management.

Presenting remarks at the official opening was the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie, Prime Minister of the Bahamas. He spoke to the confidence Templeton has in doing business in The Bahamas, noting that this is an exciting time for the Bahamian financial industry. Also speaking at the Opening was the Hon. James Smith, Minister of State for Finance who observed that *”this will augur well for the development of banking, because Templeton Fiduciary is here for the long run”.* Meanwhile, Julian Francis, Governor of the Central Bank, in his welcome remarks said that the opening of FTFB demonstrated that this jurisdiction is able to attract a first class institution from a highly regulated environment such as the United States.
