Scotiatrust Bahamas has acquired the trust and private banking business of MeesPierson (Bahamas) Limited.

Mr. Stewart describes the acquisition as an ideal addition to Scotia’s operation, indicating that the company hopes to continue to expand its operations in this area. Scotiatrust provides specialised trust services to clients worldwide. Scotiabank was established in The Bahamas in 1965, and currently operates 18 branches, providing a full range of retail and commercial banking services.
