Citibank today officially opens its Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) office, serving as headquarters for the Northern Caribbean region. The Bahamas division of the GCIB offers a complete array of corporate banking and investment services.
Bank officials say that the strategic decision to start full-scale operations of its GCIB division was made in recognition of the potential for the development of local capital markets and local Bahamian corporate markets.
This latest development “demonstrates Citibank’s commitment to this market place” according to M. Carmen Butler, Country Corporate Officer for The Bahamas and Cayman Islands. Citibank has operated in The Bahamas since 1960.
