Keith Davies, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX), announced that four additional funds have been listed at the close of the year. These include the Fidelity Bahamas International Investment Fund, the CFAL Global Bond, the CFAL Global High Equity Fund, and the CFAL High Grade Bond Fund. Currently there are 18 mutual fund listings on BISX.
CEO Davies hopes the exchange control liberalisation programme introduced by the Central Bank of the Bahamas will result in more market players being attracted to the listing facility. The liberalisation, he said, can create wealth for Bahamian investors through international investment opportunities, and stimulate the capital markets.
BISX launched its Mutual Fund Listing Facility in 2001. The listing facility is targeted at meeting the needs of international investors, who may require the extra visibility afforded by a listing on an established Securities Exchange as a basis for their choice of investment vehicle. BISX has established a user-friendly, fast-track listing service which engages qualified listing sponsors to ensure the highest quality of service for its mutual fund listings.
Mr. Davies anticipates additional funds listings on BISX over the course of the next year.
